La Música Oxidada explores the intersection of decay, memory, and sound through a series of sculptural skeletons performing with intervened instruments. Villasierra transforms guitars, trombones, and cellos using wood, plastic, brass, and acrylic paint—creating figures that appear suspended between life and disintegration.
The presence of skeletal bodies intensifies the narrative: they evoke the persistence of music beyond mortality, the echo of rhythm that remains long after the performer is gone. Each sculpture becomes a tableau where oxidation, metal, and vivid color coexist, blending humor, nostalgia, and mechanical poetry.
The series reflects on time’s erosion but also on the enduring power of artistic expression — even in its most fragile, rusted form.
